I think genealogy research is just like going fishing, you dont always get (or catch) exactly what you want, but it is all fun, and sometimes you learn (or catch) things you did not expect. For genealogy research in Poland, YRIP does my fishing for me. If records are incomplete they can not always find what I want, but sometimes they find work-a-rounds, and can find other evidence of the information I was looking for. I am especially pleased when they provide details I did not ask for, such as old maps from the time period I am interested in, or derivations of a family surname, or an extra related record that I did not ask for, but is of interest. I very much like that YRIP documents, with photos, the original records. I like the thoroughness and detail they provide. I highly recommend YRIP. Have fun fishing.

Kinga and her team are amazing! Without her help I would never have been able to discover so much about my family roots in Poland. They traced my family back to my great-great-great grandfather and his family living in Krakow in the early 1800s. When we visited last month, Kinga arranged a private “Wlosinski history” family tour. Before my trip to Poland, I contacted Your Roots in Poland for help. In addition to the research, they arranged for me to travel with Andrzej, who was also a highlander, to that village in Galicia. I was able to see the spectacular landscape my grandmother had seen. They also arranged for me to meet with the local administrator, the local priest, and the eldest living resident of the village. Because of Your Roots in Poland research, we were able to verify a connection that was a mystery in the United States. My grandfather Joseph Kraus’ estate contained a photo of a Tomasz Kraus. While the photo was important enough for my grandfather to keep, no one in the current family knew who Tomasz.was. Lukasz’ research discovered siblings for my gr-gr-grandfather Martin Kraus. We have since learned that Tomasz was godfather to my grandfather’s first child, and my grandfather was witness at Tomasz’ Chicago wedding in 1913. Without verification of Tomasz’ parents, he would still be a mystery to us. Lukasz’s work continues to benefit long after his report is delivered. Thanks, Lukasz and YRIP!

Your Roots in Poland, and specifically Przemysław Jędrzejewski, did an outstanding job finding information for me in Poland. Based on a single baptismal record found by a relative, they were able to find marriage records, birth records, and death records for a number of relatives going back three and four generations. I randomly found “Your Roots in Poland” during a search online when I was looking to explore my ancestry in Poland. I only had a single USA immigration entry document for my great grandfather from the early 1900’s. By the time YRIP finished their research and hand-on work, I not only had a treasure trove of information about my Polish family but they also helped facilitate my visit to meet living relatives in Krosno that I hadn’t even known existed. I am a retiree. I have extensive career coordinating labor and material suppliers from multiple international locations, N.America, EU, and pan Asia. I was apprehensive on spending my money on a foreign genealogical research company. When my YRIP project was entering execution phase, worldwide Covid19 struck. My paternal roots in Poland are in Malopolskie and maternal roots are in Masovian voivodeship. Birth/marriage/death acts are recorded very differently in each region. I thought I knew my family tree but the people at Your Roots in Poland (YRIP) gave me new understanding of my ancestors. Michał made calls to offices which helped me understand how records are stored and the effect of wars on emigration. Kinga explained how Russian documentation influenced the spellings of family names. I cannot say enough about how wonderful our tour was with Your Roots in Poland. I have wanted to see my ancestors homeland since I was a little girl. I contacted several companies but went with Michal Gierzon of Your Roots in Poland as he came highly recommended. I'm so glad I did. He arranged our tour with professional tour guide Piotr Ostrawski. He was unfamiliar with our village so he contacted the Village Administrator ahead of time to see if she knew of anyone in the village who would be interested in taking us on a tour of the village. Administrator was there waiting for us. She took us on a tour of the entire village, talking to us about the history of the town. It was such a wonderful experience. We toured and talked for 3 hours. She showed us where everything was when our family lived there: the property, the hidden cemetery, the lake, the orchard, the houses, the green houses, etc. It was more than we could ask for and much more than we expected. We had considered renting a car and driving ourselves. I am so glad we didn't. We would have missed out on this wonderful experience. I hired Your Roots in Poland to research my grandfather’s and grandmother’s family tree circa 1872.
